Before You Go Looking for Her...

The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.

(Genesis 2:15)

Adam was first led to a garden by God, who then blessed him and gave him everything he required to prosper (see Genesis 1:28). Additionally, God gave him a duty to work and care for the garden He provided him.

Unless it is put to use, a blessing is useless. The same holds true for potential—it is useless without a duty. Where is your garden, man? Given all the blessings (potential) you have received from God, do you know yet where He expects you to be and what He expects from you?

Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” (Genesis 2:18)

Before you consider getting married, be aware of your God-given responsibilities and what you have specifically been called to do in life. Before giving Adam a wife to aid him, God gave him work to undertake.

It's very important to remember that Eve had not yet been brought to Adam when God led him to the garden and assigned him the task. Likewise, since the lady wasn't present when you were given the responsibility, it is your obligation as the man to help her to understand the nature of the responsibility.

The lady you eventually fall in love with won't understand exactly what your purpose in life is. Therefore, you must make sure that she understands and appreciates your life mission so that she accepts the role could play in it before you marry her.

If the lady you wish to marry refuses to accept the assignment that God has given you, you are free to ask God for an ideal helper in order to be obedient to Him, as it's likely that you didn't ask Him before.

The wisest course of action is to make this decision, despite the fact that it may seem very tough. If not, the enemy would use her as a tool to influence you against God and pull you away from His plan for your life. Adam spent much time with God and understood what God expected of him before Eve was brought out of him. Adam didn't do much to help Eve to understand his work and the role that she needed to play. That was why the enemy was able to manipulate Eve, who also convinced Adam to disobey God. He was too preoccupied with work, leaving Eve alone. This made it simple for the enemy to grab her attention.

Know your God-given calling before you consider marriage!
